Cost and schedule

On raw wall area for a very large building, tilt-up can be economical because casting on site skips the plant and the haul. That is a real advantage on a big-box footprint with lots of plain wall.

Precast tends to win on smaller and mid-sized jobs, on buildings with many openings or finishes, and anywhere the schedule is tight against weather. Because precast panels are built in the plant while the foundation is going in, the wall is often ready to set the moment the site is, with no waiting on cast panels to cure on the slab. Quality, insulation, and finish

This is where the plant earns its keep. A precast panel is cast indoors in repeatable conditions, so the concrete, the cover, and the finish come out consistent panel to panel. A tilt-up panel is cast outdoors on a slab, at the mercy of the weather the day it is poured.

Insulation is the sharpest split.
