Common questions
Straight answers from a team that has done this work for decades.
What size septic tank do I need?
As a rule of thumb: 2–3 bedrooms → 1,000 gal, 4 bedrooms → 1,250–1,500 gal, 5 bedrooms → 1,500–2,000 gal. Commercial flows are sized by design load — send us the details and we’ll spec it.
Single- or two-compartment?
Most modern installs use two compartments for better solids settling and effluent quality. Both are available, and many tanks double as effluent dosing chambers on larger systems.
Do you deliver and set the tank?
Yes. We run our own fleet of boom trucks and set tanks on grade across Montana, Northern Idaho, and Southern Alberta — no coordinating a third-party hauler for a 10,000-lb product.
Can your septic tanks be traffic-rated for drive-over?
Yes — any of our septic tanks can be built to the AASHTO HS-20 highway loading standard, with the tank and its lids reinforced to carry vehicle loads, not just the lid. Concrete, PVC, or fiberglass risers and lids are available either way. Tell us where a drive, parking area, or equipment path crosses the tank and we will spec the build. Our traffic-rated and commercial septic guide covers when you need one.
What permits do I need in Flathead County?
Every property needs a Land Research Request approval first, then county health-department review. Requirements vary by county — see the ordering steps or call us and we’ll point you to the right forms.
